I finally had enough of the automatic choke so treated my Astra to a new Weber carb with a manual choke. Asked them how much I got off for being a member of the Mark 1 OC and they said 10%. That was at Webcon UK Ltd in Middleses. 01932 787100 or sales@webcon.co.uk

Might work with other firms - if you don't ask you don't get.

The carb was £199.80 plus £9 delivery and £39.96 Vat before the 10% was knocked off. That worked out as £22.90 off the cost.
I did as much shopping around as I could before buying and these guys quoted the best price. They also do recon carbs and kits for you to recon your own carb. I didn't fancy that though - Carbs are rather complicated beasts and I wanted to get rid of the automatic choke. The instructions they sent with the new carb were very good and it had everything I needed to make the changeover.
