What a beautiful SR - congratulations. I find that the SR trim really brings out the shape in a mk1 / Kadett D and that's why its one of my 80s favorites. |

Nice work.
Interestingly I may change the colour of my SR from maroon to beige. _________________ throw away the chicken sh$t gun, you don't just want to pull the trigger, you want to put the knife in me. |

I'm sure this is the same astra Sr I wanted to buy in 2003. I had pics of it but can't find them. It's the only beige SR I've ever seen.
Do you know when it got exported? _________________ [Click here to pay ransom to view photos] |

Thank for all the comments im the kinda fella that when i start something i like to keep going till its finished .
The two shells in the back ground were cars i purchased for parts one was a GTE that was in partly restored but badly done sills welded on outside old ones , plate of steel just thrown down on floor and welded in but paint had all cracked and had rusted under the paint and apart from that it was crashed .So i broke it for my next project a GTE , Irish reg one ready for paint at moment not sure what colour yet.
The other shell is a 1.2 hatchback that was a SR replica that belongs to a friend who is restoring it was at my place to see what work it needs .
Not sure when my SR was imported here but scrapyard owner said he had it 3/4 years , I just re registered it onto an old reg that you see here . This is done legally by the local authority . |

Was there a reason why you painted it with the wings on?
I'm in two minds. In one hand, you gat the wing bolts painted which I guess makes it look more stock, on the other hand, if you ever had to replace a wing, you be cracking paint. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

No the wings were painted separately but were put in place for the final coat and lacquer and also to apply the black trim paint . |

Ah so you went base and clear coat? why didn't you do a solid colour? I assume two pack paint? _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."
