4X4 MK1 VAN

Some more pictures from today, mainly of the welds after we gave them some attention, they look a lot better now, and once we get some more dye grinder bits we will get it better in some of the awkward areas although a lot will not be seen Smile

Got a bit more welding to do, and some more grinding down, then it will be going for priming, spoke to my mate to arrange painting so all is good.
I hope and pray i can get it done before they close the priming dept.

Once back from priming it will be getting painted and put back together as soon as we can, i always jinx myself by saying it will be done then or now ?

So we shall see !

Mate this project is amazing great idea for a an astra van it really is and the celicas had great engines. The turbo lump was fantastic and very tuneable great project!!

Thanks for the positive comments,
The van floor was rotten round the wishbones with years of repairs, so it was obvious to do something like this as opposed to scrapping the van Crying or Very sad

The van will live on big grin

As you say the toyota is very tuneable, and in 1994 @ £30k new, they were 5 grand more than the escort cosworth, so they can t be that bad ?

Yes mate spot on great cars i have just bought a mk2 mr2 solid car and well built as well. Yeah very good engines and very tuneable will look great fantastic project big grin

Will take some pictures when its home as my friend is picking it up in his curtain sider, dont want it to get wet do we !

Its booked in for paint, so will put some pictures up when my friend is prepping and painting it. smile

Not long and we can put it straight back together ! then some severe high 5s laughing
