Astra GTE last in the handling test? Hmmm Think Think

I have had an XR3i and I can honestly say they must be on drugs to rate them better in the twisties than the GTE

How much newer does the golf look over the rest of the cars!
although I wonder if that test had been a couple of years later when the Mk2 gte was out, how the results would have been then.

Interesting that the GTE and XR3i were the oldest design back then but looking at them now they seem to me the least dated Dancing . Even the dash of the GTE looks fresher than the others. Disagree with the pedal spacing and “huge plasticky dashboard”, the plastics are in my opinion better than the Fords and Mk2 Astra. But otherwise, the Golf certainly represents a car from a newer era.
