Most of you on here know the car, but for those that don't I'll summarise as best I can.
3 door 1200S
Pale blue
1984 'B'
2.0XE with F20 gearbox
4 branch manifold
Magnex exhaust
K&N induction
Koni suspension
16v front brakes
GTE rear beam with discs
15" steel wheels with good Avon tyres
GTE seats
I've had it for 3 years for which time it has been mostly garaged. As a result it is still solid underneath. In fact it flew through the last MOT with no welding required. Engine still runs really sweet and the gearbox feels perfect too.
The body work is getting tired. Front wings have rusted through at the bottom, and the rest of the paintwork needs a freshen up.
I have lots of spares to go with this car that I have collected with the intention of fitting and making it perfect, but I have no time due to work, and have just bought myself a new toy and fear the Astra will get left.
I have:
- 2 pairs of front wings, 2 in primer and 2 painted
- 4 x 14" steel wheels (2 good tyres)
- GTE front lower panel
- GTE steering wheel
- 2 sets of digital clocks
- clean grab handles with studs
- pair of door mirrors
MOT is till May 2011 and it is taxed (still on logbook as 1200) until end of October. Mileage is still under 50k, I think.
I love this car, but as I am working away more and more, I barely get chance to drive it. I'm in no need to sell it as I don't need the money, but I would like to see someone do it up and make it look as well as it drives.
I'd be looking for £1000 for the car and all spares.
NOW SOLD !!

Is the shell rust free? if it's not gone by the end of this week I would be interested in checking it out so I can start a new project. |

The shell is pretty rust free. One arch is a little tatty, but its not riddled with holes or loads of rust.
I'm in Bolton, nr Manchester. |

I've just bought a £20k car from Ipswich without seeing it.
In fact I'll be picking it up in a couple of weeks so I'll have to drive past you. So, there's an offer of delivery for you. |

Is she reliable enough to be used daily? (Not long journeys or rush hour, just the school run)
When you say the bodywork is tired, just faded paint? Are the front wings the only parts that are rusted through?

I've never used it daily as I have a company car, but every time I have wanted to use it, it has been fine. Always started first time, even after being left in the garage for a couple of months. I guess if it made the 200 mile journey to Essex, that would prove some sort of reliability.
I'll take some more pics later in the week. I can't remember any more parts rusted through other than the wings. The arches could do with being repaired. 1 is crumbly, the other has at some time been sort of fixed and painted. But it's a really good base to start with. |

Not quite but nearly.
Good excuse the drive a Mk1 a little further though Better than having someone do another 2-way journey & certainly cheaper than the train. |
