Amongst some other trivial things, the car failed on excessive corrosion to both wisbone mounting points. To say I am extremely annoyed would be putting it mildly.
Are the mounts part of the floor pan, or are they further forward than that?

As I can't weld, is there anyone local'ish that can do the necessary welding for me?

Thats a shitter, thought it was solid!

The mount point is part of the floor pan, as in that it is thicker at that point and the mount bolts up into captive nuts on the thicker part of the floor.
Perhaps a good clean up to see what condition they are in is the first thing to do, they might not need welding but might have surface corrosion?

Me too mate hence why I am so f**king annoyed! Chris did all the other work but obviously not this. Fortunately it is the only welding left to do.

So what's the worst case scenario, new floor pans?

The idea I have about your car is that it wont need anything more than the picture above. Its a problem area as water gets in by the bulk head then then sits in between the floor pan and where the mount is.

Tbh its probably a good thing that they failed it as alot of stress is put on those mounts. At least now you know it wont tare itself apart over the next 12 months giving you even more work to do next year.

The worst case scenario is that the wishbone mountings come away from the floor, you lose all your suspension geometry and it needs putting on a jig to realign (£200 minimum) so it's straight before it's welded back up, and you decide to throw the shell away and reshell it because it's cheaper. Hope yours isn't that bad.

No they're not that bad Trev fortunately! Just need a bit of welding. The MOT place said they'd do it but I'd prefer not to have to pay garage rates at the moment having just paid out on the HG to be done

Yes Ads, shame I'm so far away frown
Although, hmm, what's the maximum penalty for driving a car without a valid MOT?
