Looking at fuel pumps on ebay, googling suggests i need one that runs at 3 bar - sound about right??

Was going to grab this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-3-BAR-ELECTRIC-FUEL-PUMP-/151265247664?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item23381c81b0

Thoughts??

Was also planning on running it on a constant live via a switch so i can turn it off when i see flames lol. This wont have any adverse effect on the engine/pump will it as the xe's have a pressure regulator in the rail dont they?

Cheers!!

The standard pumps are normally 3 bar. You could use a bigger pump but it will only pump 3 bar due to the regulator being 3 bar also.

If you get a bigger pump and an adjustable fuel regulator you can go above 3 bar but you will need the supporting tuning mods to actually require higher fuel pressure.

I have an FSE regulator (not very good btw) and a 6.5 bar pump. The Turbo conversion seems to respond better with higher fuel pressure.

Cool so that one should just plug and play. No issues with running the pump constantly via a switch rather than from the ecu is there?

Nope, not a bad anti theft device if you wire it out of the way.

Yea going to have a switch in reach so i can turn it off if theres a problem but also a sneaky hidden one somewhere being that you can unlock the car with a coat hanger and probably start it with a knife lol

I bought a cheap pump off eBay and it failed after 120 mile, spend the money on a Bosch one if you can

One thing to remember when putting the pump on a switch is that if you have a big crash you could end up with fuel pumping everywhere when usually it would be cut off with the engine stalling.

Boys ! Do not play with fuel pumps ...
As it has been said the C20XE ecu controls the fuel pump and wjen the engine is not running the pump does not pumps ( a crash ! ! !) so there is not food for the flames...

I recommend to wire the pump normally BUT make a hidden switch to cut of the earth wire from the main engine relay !
This is the best anti-theft system !
