I thought all mk1 wings were the same ??
I thought the only difference on the front panel was the 2 holes in the middle.
Just offered my wing up to the gte front panel and its too short ?
My second hand gte wing is spot on,
So have i just learned gte wings are in fact longer and so is the front panel ? |

Where did you get the wings? They sound like kadett pirshe wings, they had a short front panel and wings. They are mega rare. _________________ [Click here to pay ransom to view photos] |

Are the wings originals?
Has your car had a bump?
Has your car had welding done in the past?
Is your valance original?
All these factors might cause what your problem.
All original OE panels for the MK1 are the same. Bar 3dr, 4dr. |

Hello Ash,
Wings are original,
Car hasnt had a bump,
No welding done
genuine gte front panel from mm dronten
i bought a genuine second hand gte wing years ago, so when doing the van i thought ill use that,
the gte valance has 3x holes where the wing meets, this right wing only has 2x

The wing to valance should have three holes.
If you got your front valance from mm dronten, it won't be an OEM part but that's not relevant here. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Incidentally, I'm going to use plastic nuts, bolts and washers for those three holes as it's a prime rusty bit. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Some photos of the mystery wing, rather than cut up the gte front panel as wee need to, we decided to use a 1.3 front valance off a parts shell i have, this is temporary as i will get a new one.
Pulled another genuine wing out, and this has 3x holes and fits as shown.
