Taken steering wheel off to replace Spring but on mine the shaft moves down inside its self making it hard to push wheel back on,it's like there is something missing to stop this any ideas |

Doesn't the steering shaft have small sheer pins in case you collide with the wheel in a crash? It will still turn ok but the whole steering wheel will move back and forth.
The can be damaged removing and fitting the wheel. |

I have managed to get wheel back on I did see two plastic pins in the shaft |
