1981 Vauxhall Astra GL 1300S

Vauxhall Astra GL 1300S. For sale is a 1981 mk 1 Astra 3 door in turquoise. 66,558 miles, manual transmission. The car has been SORN’d and stored in a dry garage since 2007 when the owner stopped driving. She bought it new in 1981, so it's a one owner car!

The interior is in very good condition with no tears or cracks, but there's some rust spots on the bonnet and passenger side rear wheel arch, and a couple of scuffs on the passenger side panels, and front bumper. The car was always well maintained and serviced and we have some service history.

The car is not taxed or MOT’d since 2007 and would require some work before being driven again. The engine turns over but won’t start and it appears the rear drum brakes are stuck. For sale as the owner, my grandmother, has passed away. The car is located in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and would need to be taken away on a flat-bed.

That looks very smart considering its age and being unrestored. Of course one wonders what horrors might be awaiting underneath.

The metallic turquoise was quite a rare colour for an Astra. It was more common on Kadets. Also has the more desirable black velour interior.

I had a Sapphire Blue 1300S GL fitted with the optional alloys which I bought back in 1981. It was a lovely car!

That is so cool. I hope it gets kept the original colour and not used to reshell a gte. Reg reminds me of my own kadett JOH 406W
