If a LET has got a chip in the key and the ecu. And then said let is transplanted how can we get past the immobiliser issue?

Anyone know? By the way LET is phase 2

doesn`t the chip on the key just match the transponder thingy attached to the ignition and not the ecu. Confused

um i thought the chip in the key was paired with some thing on the startermotor/ignition aswell......

maybe im wrong, but if it were in the ECU then you can just swap the ECU units when they go wrong..............

cheers aubs

no you need the same chip, transponder and ecu as they are all 'conjoined' so to speak.

This is the delay im having on our blue one atm, as the transponer wiring needs doing, takes loads of feeds off different power and signal sources.

i see it gets confusing as when i changed the engine on a vectra i was told it wouldn`t start and would require tech 2 after install but funny thing is it started and never gave a bit of trouble but i was informed that i needed the ecu, chip and transponder from the car it came from if i wasn`t going to reprogramme it but did neither laughing

Well yeah as far as I know there is a transponder in the key and reciever in the barrel, which then affects the ecu? So need to know if this can be bi-passed as don't want to swap ignition barrels/keys etc

Mark you veccy was a diesel yes??

immobilizer not in ECU but on pump big grin

You don't change barrel the transponder sit over the top the the barrel section, once its wired if (if you go that way) then you can leave the chip next to the transponder in the chip (tape it to it) if you want, or for cool stakes, then get your mk1 key recut with chip head, swap the chips over and he-presto insurance approved cat2 immobilizer fitted big grin Thats why im doing it that way. sly wink

yes diesel would i have anything else and all it really does is stops the fuel shut off solinoid from lifting big grin

my mate used my garage last year to change a laguna diesel engine, anyway after doing it he spent two days trying to get it to run and get around the immobiliser, anyway he went home pissed off as it wouldn`t start and the red light kept flashing so i went out for a look and thought about it logically then picked up a hammer and chisel and knocked fcuk out of the pumps top casing big grin eventually after knocking ten bells of shite out of it and removing this gooey gel etc and bits of casing i got to the fuel solinoid i then found the ignition live that was wired to the original top casing and soldered that to the terminal went inside the car turned the key and hey presto it started, although no more immobiliser big grin

the next day my mate came back who is a mechanic by the way and he started fiddiling but i never told him anyway 30 minutes pass and he comes running in the house to me,saying he`s a clever boy it`s going laughing

to which i replied and it was last night too you stoopid twonk laughing
