just bought a new exhaust system for my fiesta. i was told it was a good make n at the price it was pretty good.
its an ashley full system with manifold(4-2-1) it thinkits 2 1/2"
it was 125 quid n brand new
do exhasuts give u much power gain etc its quick enough for now just wanted a loud exhaust to compete with my mate who got an opel kadett which sounds wicked

On my cars with the aftermarket exhaust I've found whilst gaining mid-top range grunt I've lost out on low range stuff.

When I ripped open the mid section on my 1200 OHC Astra I found it picked up speed really nicely better than with an exhaust but then after certain revs there was just no power.

That kinda contradicts what I said first!

i found when i had my nova sr, i lost LOADS of power by fitting a full system (manifold back), and so did my mate with his. in the end we just put the sandard manifold back on and kept the rest, which solved the problem.

not quite sure why the manifold made it loose power? but i guess unless you tune the rest of the engine up theres no need for the manifold anyway.

Well it should be the opposite, vauxhall really do benefit from unrated manifolds, you probably needed to retune the engine, i did on my old SR when i done full system and filter swap at same time, my SR ran 85bhp big grin

Mine ran filter and full system inc 4-1 manifold, ran well, hassling much bigger engined cars (really annoyed a Nova GTE when I passed him). They do need to be jetted to get the best out of them but should run a little better regardless

Ashley systems are great, I used to use them. They are rally systems so are only mild steel and sometimes don't line up and need a bit of tweaking but they're worth about 8-10bhp on a GTE.

The last Ashley system I bought was £59.99 inc. VAT for a full system (less manifold and downpipe), from Ears Motorsport in Macclesfield, it was several years ago now as you can probably tell by the price big grin

That's inflation for you!
