Not really any different to an xe conversion other than the extra piping for an intercooler and different exhaust.

Depends what you want from the car.
A c20let will be much less reliable, parts are expensive, ect. they are obviously much quicker but as I say depends want you want from the car.

Tune the xe motor will be a lot more fun with 200hp NA.

A let will put a smile on your face every time you plant your foot, but an xe will probably be easier to drive fast as you can put the power down.
The main problem with a let is finding a good one, their all quite old and likely to be abused, I know the same can be said for an xe, but hardly anyone will have a std let so the components come under more stress.

I had a let for several years, I do miss the craziness that happens when you plant your foot, but I'm now after something I can drive fast without the crazy.

Here you go Scotti, here is the performance stats for both engines

Calibra C20let

Astra xe

There is a big difference in weight to consider too.

From my little experience 200 bhp in an astra mk1 is more than it can handle . All the power from the engine should go to the road. If you fit a LET then its better to uprate the cars structure , brakes suspension etc etc ..
Its my opinion better to have less but on the road with 100 handling than more without handling and control.

Mines 290bhp fwd with an limited slip diff which is highly recommended for a turbo motor. So it's not just spinning up 1 wheel.
