I know there has been some discussion on this before, but wondering what you lot would buy as a 2-3k runabout, needs to be a daily driver, so not a really old classic?, but needs to be quick, nimble and fun?
I'm thinking
Clio Williams?
Corrado vr6
Golf VR6
Vectra GSI
Any one any comments on these ot any better suggestions? |

Avoid the vectras. Seriously. Rear arms bushes fall out, v6 is a heavy thristy engine that (imho) isnt much cop. F25 gearboxes are weak too, early ones had lots of problems with those. Front subframes float about and are pretty vauge.
I always liked corrados. What about an old quattro ? |

You could just about pick up an rx7 turbo for £3-£4k. Or you could go down the subaru clitoris route (Every cnuts got one) _________________

I have driven a mates clio williams, great fun to throw about but not as fast as i was expecting , tho to be fair wasnt the best example and it had done over 100 thousand miles. _________________ y reg 1300s gte kit xe on twin 45s |

Get a BMW E30 325i, I have, paid just a grand for mine and even though its old, you can still count on the good build quality!
If you spend a bit more and get the SE, it comes with an LSD for more fun. |
